E’ stato detto come nessun artigiano o artista possa sottovalutare o disprezzare la tecnica senza correre il rischio di negare se stesso. D’altra parte, l’abilità manuale, la capacità di modellare e trasformare le materie è stata spesso siglata col termine negativo di eclettismo. Eppure non mancano, nella storia antica e recente esempi di artisti che, accanto ad una attività principale, intesa quale centro della loro creatività, hanno sviluppato senza svilirsi anche un’attività non secondaria, ma parallela alla prima, mirante a soddisfare quella gamma variegata del gusto che può ambire sia alla funzionalità che al decorativismo.
Giampaolo Ghisetti è pittore e decoratore, coltiva con pari impegno l’arte e l’artigianato ( ammesso che i due termini valgano ancora a definire una diversità di valori) e non è un eclettico ma un polivalente. Certo sono evidenti le diversità tra la decorazione su vetro, la riproposta di antichi stili e l’invenzione figurativa, moderna e personale. Ma fatte salve le esigenze; dell’artigiano e quelle, ben più urgenti, dell’artista, l’occhio attento noterà che in Ghisetti le due attività apparentemente eterogenee si legano, si apparentano grazie ad alcuni fattori essenziali: la precisione del segno, l’accuratezza dell’esecuzione, la nobiltà del disegno e del suo intimo significato.
Talvolta si afferma che oggi la bellezza non ubbidirebbe più a canoni, a norme immutabili, ma bisogna dire che in Ghisetti la coerenza fra ideazione e l’esecuzione di ogni singola opera, e l’unità riscontrabile nel complesso dei suoi lavori, riescono agevolmente a restituirci l’emozione dell’oggetto finito, irripetibile.
E il vetro che vive della sua materia e assieme della sua decorazione, la tela che offre i suoi colori scanditi in agili geometrie e ritmi essenziali, ci ripropongono infine ancora una volta, l’idea di un’arte intessuta di emozione, sapienza ed equilibrio.

It has been said that no artisan or artist can underestimate or despise the technique without running the risk of denying himself. On the other hand, manual ability, the ability to model and transform matters has often been marked with the negative term of eccentricism. Nevertheless, in the ancient and recent history of artists who, besides having a principal activity( understood as the center of their creativity) develop not a secondary activity, but one parallel to the first, aim to satisfy that varied range of a taste that appeals to both functionality and decorativism. Giampaolo Ghisetti is both a painter and a decorator, cultivating art and crafts with equal commitment (provided that the two terms still define a diversity of values) and is not an eclectic but a multifaceted ,,,,,,,. Certainly the differences between the glass decoration, the replication of ancient styles and the figurative, modern and personal invention are evident. The attentive eye will notice that the two seemingly heterogeneous activities in Ghisetti are bound by some of the essential factors: the precision of the sign, the accuracy of the execution, the nobility of design and its intimate meaning.
Sometimes it is said that beauty today will no longer abide by canons, with immutable norms, but it must be said that in Ghisetti the consistency between the design and execution of every single work and the unity found in its work easily join in emotion of each unique finished object.
The glass that lives in its material and with its decoration, the canvas that offers its colors marked in agile geometries and essential rhythms, finally inspire in us again, the idea of an art woven of emotion, wisdom and balance .
